NS. Lucia party

If someone in your family has a December birthday, it’s time to start thinking about how you want to celebrate it. Some families choose to do something unrelated to the holiday season when planning their child’s party, but I’ve always been someone who embraced the holiday theme of my daughter’s December birthday and made it memorable for her friends as well. If you want to do the same this year, in today’s post we shared ideas for Christmas birthday party ideas that are perfect for December birthdays!

Throw a Christmas cookie or gingerbread decoration party. Invite a few of your child’s friends to your house one morning and decorate them with delicious Christmas cookies or (pre-made) gingerbread houses! This is probably already on your to-do list for December, and you’ll feel extra festive when you add a birthday celebration to the mix.

Host a neighborhood Santa visit. Young children look forward to seeing Santa every year – how much fun would it be if Santa visited them on their birthdays? There are many local companies where you can hire “Santa Claus” for events. Invite your family and neighborhood friends and ask Santa to give him a special birthday present when he arrives.

The Nutcracker Ballerina Party. Check local ballet studios. Many offer it and even bring a Sugarplum fairy to teach a mini class!

Host a holiday tea. Afternoon Christmas tea is a very special tradition, especially for mothers and daughters. Invite a few of your daughter’s friends to join you for Christmas tea at a local hotel or boutique or even at your own home – and don’t forget a special birthday treat with dessert!

Polar Express themed party. So cute little ones! Rent a little train that takes them around your neighborhood but make it Christmas themed! Bring hot chocolate and dress the kid in pajamas like a book! There may be fun breaks planned—perhaps even one to see Santa!

American Girl St. Lucia party. Based on the classic Kirsten series, a st. Lucia Day party and have the girls make garlands for their heads, dolls for favors, and books. You can do this with or without babies!

Watch a Christmas production with friends. Many families plan to attend the shows. Nutcracker or Christmas Carolor go to see The Polar Express at their local theaters each year. Gather a few friends and make this a birthday event!

Get in the car to see the Christmas lights! It would be fun for the big girls to drink hot cocoa and ride the carriage!

Winter Wonderland Party. Rent a Snow machine in the front yard!

Bring Christmas treats to school. Ask your child’s teacher if you can bring Christmas-themed birthday treats for your child’s birthday. Give your best and plan a fun craft or activity for the whole class!

The great news is that there is absolutely no shortage of events in December, so the possibilities are endless! Do you have any other fun Christmas birthday party ideas to celebrate December birthdays? Tell me in the comments below!
