NEW YORK (AP) — Pete Davidson took a short trip into space on his Jeff Bezos rocket.
Bezos’ space travel company said on Thursday night that the “Saturday Night Live” star will no longer be able to make the flight, which has been delayed for nearly a week. No other details were given.
The company announced earlier this week that Davidson will be one of six passengers on Blue Origin’s next flight. The company said it was scheduled for next Wednesday, but has now been shifted to March 29 for further testing.
Davidson would become the third celebrity to climb aboard a Blue Origin automatic capsule for the 10-minute flight from West Texas. Actor William Shatner and former NFL great and “Good Morning America” co-host Michael Strahan took a flight last year. Bezos was on his company’s first flight with passengers last July.
The company said it will announce in the coming days that it will join the five paying passengers who have replaced Davidson. Davidson was leaving as Bezos’ guest. The company did not disclose the ticket price for paying customers.
Currently with reality star Kim Kardashian, Davidson wrote and starred in the semi-autobiographical film “The King of Staten Island,” which was released in 2020.
