There may be no surer way to get into Twitter jail than calling a Biden administration official Rachel Levine a man, but some fed up conservatives are taking a stand against what they describe as the platform’s attempt to replace fact with fiction.

Twitter suspended Babylon Bee’s accounts within two days and Milestone USA CEO Charlie Kirk for identifying the transgender assistant secretary of health as male, making them a long line of conservatives at odds with the “hateful behavior” policy Levine– themed tweets.

The difference is Bee and Mr. Fourty he refuses to delete the tweets and declares that doing so would make them complicit in a lie.

“Twitter wants me to admit that I’m lying because I said something true. I can’t do that,” he said. Fourty He told The Washington Times in an email Wednesday.

Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon said removing the tweet would be “like asking us to say 2 and 2 make 5”.

“We don’t believe that truth is hate speech, telling the truth is hate speech,” Mr. Dillon said on Fox’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” “At some point people have to stick with it, Tucker. People have to be willing to say it, be willing to listen, if they want us to deny the truth so we can stay on this platform, then we speak the truth. Have them fire you. Get them scratching you.”

Mr Carlson was censored after he posted screenshots of the offensive tweets on Twitter on Tuesday, by virtue of To the Daily Caller, of which the Fox host is co-founder. Tweets no longer appear on your account.

Both Mr. Fourty and Bee, who each have more than 1 million followers, said they would appeal the lockouts.

That they will risk their influential podium comes as a sign that the right has reached a boiling point in tech censorship, as well as the left’s campaign to reward male-born individuals with female achievements.

Dr. LevineReportedly transitioning to female at age 53 in 2011, she was recently named one of USA Today’s 2022 Woman of the Year, causing Babylon Bee to mock the award with her March 15 tweet: “Babylon Bee’s Man of the Year.” Rachel Levine

Mr Dillon said the tweet was “just a joke. It’s pretty harmless and definitely doesn’t hurt anyone.”

“And this is a public official,” he added. “It’s not like we punch an oppressed person.”

Even so, Twitter reacted on Sunday by suspending @theBabylonBee. The next day, Twitter froze the account of Babylon Bee’s editor-in-chief, Kyle Mann, due to a tweet that lifted the lockout.

He tweeted: “If we throw a few thousand Uighurs into a concentration camp, maybe they’ll let us back to our @theBabylonBee Twitter account.”

Twitter isn’t over: On Tuesday, the tech platform froze Mr. Kirk’s @charliekirk11 account for a tweet that began March 15th with “Richard Levine spent the first 54 years of his life as a man.”

“He had a wife and a family,” Kirk said in his tweet. “Joe Biden, who made the ‘transition’ to womanhood in 2011, appointed Levine a 4-Star Admiral and now USA Today named ‘Rachel’ Levine ‘Woman of the Year’. Where are the feminists?”

Mr. Kirk is actually Dr. She didn’t call Levine a man, but used the federal official’s “dead name”, which violated Twitter rules.

“We took enforcement action on accounts you referenced for violating the Twitter Rules regarding hateful behavior,” a Twitter spokesperson told The Washington Times. “We prohibit targeting others with repeated smears, metaphors or other content intended to dehumanize, humiliate or reinforce negative or harmful stereotypes about a protected category. This includes the targeted misgendering or anonymization of transgender people.’”

In addition, the account holder “will need to delete the offending Tweet and spend 12 hours in read-only mode before gaining full access to their account,” meaning accounts will be frozen unless the offending tweet is removed.

Turning Point USA described the ban as “a symptom of the growing anti-democratic climate being perpetuated by Big Tech.”

“With this latest attack on objective truth, the censors on Twitter have conclusively proven that they don’t believe in biology – just ideology,” he said. Fourty “They want delivery,” the statement said. We shouldn’t give them what they want.”

Not surprisingly, Bee responded with a series of satirical messages on the lockout. Items include “Twitter Throws Babylonian Bee in a Fiery Furnace After Refusing to Worship Flag of Honor” and “Babylonian Bee Writers Struggling to Find New Material After Twitter Bans 1 of 2 Pranks”.

The lockouts garnered great reaction on social media. While some commenters said that following Twitter’s rules is simply an entry fee to access the platform, others applauded the decision.

Twitter suspends infamous MAGA hack account Charlie Kirk after that he is Repeatedly misgender US assistant secretary of health Rachel Levine and piling up transgender insults him” tweeted Occupy Democrats.

Inez Stepman, senior policy analyst at the Conservative Independent Women’s Forum, has been fiercely critical of the suspensions.

“It is one of the most fundamental and clear facts of the human condition that men and women are biologically different,” Ms. “The fact that voicing such blatant truths results in censorship by social media giants is a good reason to question the power they have to shape discourse in the public sphere.”

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz said in response to the Babylon Bee lockout, “Twitter hates comedy. He hates the truth.”

Twitter’s pediatrician and former Pennsylvania health secretary, Dr. He has a record of targeting tweets hostile to Levine.

Media Research Center to create Last year Dr. A dozen lawmakers, media outlets, and others whose accounts were flagged or frozen for tweets about Levine’s gender.

These are the accounts of Indiana Republican Representative Jim Banks; Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, Georgia Republican; Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton; Catholic World Report; Daily Citizen, a Christian news outlet managed by PJ Media and Focus on the Family.

PJ Media editor Paula Bolyard blasted “science deniers” on Twitter for the lockout over the conservative media’s October 19 tweet, “Rachel Levine Not ‘The First Female Four-Star Admiral’ because she is a man.’”

“Until we ‘admit’ the mistake of our ways, they will hold our account hostage. every cell in [Levine’s] the body is encoded in male DNA, yet we are wrong?” Mrs Bolyard asked on her own account.

Account holders often deleted their tweets rather than lose access.

Mr Banks said he removed his tweet to stay in touch with his constituents, but was not happy about it.

“Twitter asked me to delete the tweet if I wanted to participate in a very important political discussion that is my job, so I did, but I stand behind every word of my truthful statement,” Mr Banks said in an email. “Twitter provides a crucial platform for elected officials to communicate with voters, and that’s part of what makes Twitter’s biased and arbitrary censorship so dangerous.”

Dr. She lost access to her official account due to an October 23 tweet that said “a man receives the title of first four-star female officer”, citing Levine’s announcement of her promotion to four-star admiral at Public Health USA. Service Officer Corps.

Mr Banks added on Wednesday: “Fighting the censorship of the left will continue to be my priority as long as I am in Congress.”
