This is one of my favorite times of the year when we make our launch. Classic Kids Summer Book Club! What started as a fun idea has grown into an amazing, enriching and encouraging family community across the country seeking deliberate ways to connect with their kids during the summer months. And I’m so excited that 2022 DoSayGive’s Classic Kids Summer Book Club registration is officially open!

I’m always amazed at how popular our little book club is every year. She tells me that parents, grandparents, and caregivers are looking for new ways to spark curiosity in their children, instill a love of reading at an early age, and create meaningful memories with their families. It’s all centered around great children’s literature!
We’ve compiled a list of over 80 books and coordination activities the whole family will love, and the price is only $24.99 for the whole summer! I am very excited about this and hope as many families as possible have an enriching summer.
What’s different about this year’s club?
By popular demand, we are bringing back our exclusive membership site from its early years. Summer Book Club. And even better, it’s packed with more helpful resources than ever before.
Community is a big focus for us Book Club this year too. We want to be a place of encouragement for parents who review the endless (and not always great) selection of books available on Amazon – so we’ll have resources to help with this and a variety of other parenting issues on our membership site. to break the “screen loop” with our children. Our exclusive, members-only Instagram page is also new this year and will be another place for encouragement and ideas throughout the summer, but also a place to connect with other families!
Events
Our activities are organized according to weekly themes and each week’s activities include:
- Outdoor activities to promote a love of nature
- Arts and crafts activities to encourage creativity
- Cooking activities the whole family can enjoy
- Construction and construction activities to develop imagination
I hope these books and activities will give you some structure for those long, hot summer days, whether you choose to do all the activities or once a week.
As we officially kick things off June 6, families can start at any point throughout the summer!

A self-paced club – great for families planning travel this summer, summer camps or just needing a break from the hustle and bustle. It really is what works best for your family! If you join after June 6, I’d recommend jumping in to where we are – then come back and do the first weeks when the Book Club ends.

I answer this question every year, but it’s definitely worth rephrasing.
Why classic books?
Just as we choose the healthiest foods for our children’s bodies, I believe most parents want to put the best of the best in their children’s minds. Many of the classic books we share Classic Kids Summer Book Club it emphasizes good, lovable, noble and virtuous stories, is full of rich language and contains beautiful illustrations.
Unfortunately, many of these great books are not available in school libraries and major bookstores, so we are excited to shine a light on them this summer. We’ve also added new books with the same high standards as some of the classics.
Overall, this series will give you a solid foundation for choosing better books, new or old!
What is unique about this book club?
Enriching. The books we have chosen will expand your child’s perspective on the world. Paired with simple coordination activities, your child will learn history and art, explore nature and gain a broader perspective. They will also develop their vocabulary and language through exposure to quality text.
Relational. Sharing books with your child or grandchild is one of the most important and valuable ways to stop wasting time! You’re sure to find new books that will become your family’s favorite and also create special family memories (without spending a lot of money).
Comic! Good books spark a child’s imagination. Unstructured play is also very important in childhood, and I’ve seen my kids’ imaginations fly when they have great stories in their heads. I hope these books will be catalysts for many adventures!
