I thought of looking at this photo from Louise’s first birthday – what a special milestone for any parent to celebrate their child’s first birthday! Whether it’s your first or fourth child, marking the first birthday is something you’ll always remember. So today I wanted to share some of my favorite first birthday gift ideas with loads of cute stuff for you to file!
Pottery Barn Kids Everywhere Chair
My mother gave all my daughters her own things. Pottery Barn Kids Everywhere Chair on their first birthday. We skipped the smaller “My First Chair Anywhere” because kids can use it up to grade school. Each of my daughters loved the Pottery Barn Kids chairs and I love them because the slipcovers are easily washable. The photo above was a limited edition Lilly Pulitzer chair that is no longer available. But I recommend choosing a pattern or dark shade as it hides blemishes better (and blemishes are inevitable with kids!).
What’s Inside? Soft Feeling Box Toy
This What’s Inside? Box seriously my favorite toy for this age! It’s expensive (at $49) but if you’re only going to buy a few toys for this age, get this! in this Box There are lots of cute toys, including a squeaky frog, a jingle ball and eight more surprises to evoke different sensory responses. And it can be machine washed if needed. Louise LOVED this toy when she was little.
Musical Toys
One-year-olds LOVE making noise! i love your idea Set because this age likes to pick up and shake things and feel. For an heirloom gift, this A set by Neiman Marcus super beautiful or classic Melissa and Doug set wood (so it’ll last long) and affordable (plus customizable now)! These will also last across multiple children. Note: You may not need to let your child play with some small instruments until they are a little older.
Another GREAT musical gift: CDs! They’re perfect for when toddlers are fussy about getting around in the car! Jim Weiss, Wee Sing and raffia they are wonderful. Read more of our favorite music and audiobooks for kids in this section Message.
Heirloom Birthday Plate
A special plate to showcase every birthday, a very special first birthday present! we gave it Camille’s Creations Hand-painted plate for Louise’s first birthday. Tricia Lowenfield has darling birthday plates too – we gifted this plate, more! To make my girls feel special and loved, I’m starting to display their plates the week before their birthdays!
Sort Toy
While babies can’t quite separate shapes and colors yet, sorting toys are great toys for them to grow up with. it’s popular egg toy only $14 but loved by one year olds. Even my grand daughters enjoyed playing with it! There are lots of great sorting toys like this one on Amazon. Quercetti shape sorter.
Letter Blocks
i love ours cherry wood letter blocks From Bannor Toys. They’re a great size for one-year-old hands and they strum! You can also get customized wooden blocks based on the child’s name. Definitely an heirloom gift!
Push Walkers
There are many cute walkers that make light and sound, but if you’re looking for a classic push toy that will suffice for more than one kid, then this is it. Radio Flyer Wagon he’s a great one. Something they can push, pull and even get in! Kids also love to put their “treasures” there and push them around. Outdoor toys like this can be turned into shopping carts, trolleys, tractors and anything a child can imagine. They definitely grow with the child!
