The hacking group Anonymous claims they will release 35,000 files containing “secret deals” after hacking the Bank of Russia.
The Central Bank was tasked with protecting the Russian ruble – the value of the Russian currency has dropped significantly since the invasion of Ukraine began.

Anonymous warned Western companies earlier this week that they must halt their operations in Russia or face cyberattacks.

The attack came after Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina tried to resign.
According to NDTV, Ms. Nabiullina’s request was denied by President Vladimir Putin. He was nominated for a new five-year term last week.
Ms. Nabiullina did not comment on her reassignment.
