Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene was locked from her personal Twitter account on Sunday for what she described as repeated violations of the tech platform’s policy against novel coronavirus misinformation.
The congressman’s personal account @mtgreenee showed a notification saying it was suspended while the official congressional account @RepMTG remained active.
“We have permanently suspended the account you referenced (@mtgreenee) for repeatedly violating our COVID-19 misinformation policy,” a Twitter spokesperson said in an email to The Washington Times. “According to our dunning system for this policy, we’ve made it clear that we will permanently suspend accounts for repeated violations of the policy.”
The spokesperson did not say which tweet was the final strike in the five strikes and you expulsion policy, but Ms Greene said in a statement she believed it was a comment on the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.
“Twitter is the enemy of America and cannot deal with the truth,” said Ms. Greene. Declaration on Telegram. “It’s okay, I’ll show America that we don’t need them and that the time has come to defeat our enemies. When people tell the truth, they can’t successfully complete the Communist revolution.”
The conservative firebrand has been suspended multiple times, including at least two suspensions for comments on COVID-19 vaccines.
