With no fans attending this year’s Olympics, you’d think there would be little need for an entertainment show at halftime.
Think again.
During Sunday’s basketball game between the United States and France in Japan, a 7-metre robot hissed and demonstrated its mechanical smash form. The robot cleared shots from the free throw line, over the 3-pointer timeout, and half-court.
The robot returned to each row, but travel was not called.

The rumor that an NBA team is trying to sign maximum contracts with the robot is not true.
