TikTok Raises Questions About Spreading Ukraine War Videos

TikTok and other social media platforms are also under pressure from US lawmakers and Ukrainian officials to curb Russian misinformation about the war, particularly from state-sponsored media outlets like Russia Today and Sputnik. “We continue to respond to the war in Ukraine with increased security and safety resources to detect emerging threats and eliminate harmful misinformation,” said TikTok spokesperson Hilary McQuaide.

For years, TikTok has largely escaped the constant scrutiny of its content.
