By now we’ve all seen the ad Apple Watch where the watch calls the user 911 after detecting a fall. Your iPhone does something similar as you walk.

Apple It calls it “Walking Stability” and is easily accessible from the health app on iPhone. This feature tracks the timing of the steps you take with each foot as you walk.

Other metrics include average walking speed, stride length, and stair climbing speed.

Functions work when your phone is placed in your pocket or in a holder near your waist. Users can set up notifications that warn them when their stability drops, putting them at risk of falling.
