Conservative radio and TV host Mark Levin took to Twitter on Monday to end his self-imposed absence after billionaire Elon Musk’s announcement that he would buy the company.
“Thanks to new ownership I decided to come back!” He tweeted Mr Levin on his account, his first tweet since January 8, 2021.
Levin left the platform on what he described as “Twitter’s fascism” and encouraged 2.6 million followers to follow him on Rumble and Parler.
His departure came the day Twitter kicked off then-President Trump to avoid what the company called “the risk of inciting further violence.”
Twitter’s board of directors announced on Monday that it has agreed to sell the company for an estimated $44 billion to the Tesla CEO, who has pledged to take the platform privately and make it a free speech haven.
Among those applauding for Mr. Levin’s return, Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz tweeted: “Welcome back, Mark! Great news!”
Mr. Levin, also known as “the great guy,” hosts a syndicated radio show and a Sunday show on the Fox News Channel called “Life, Liberty & Levin.”
Thanks Brother Ted! https://t.co/Ab8UKIglDN
