Computing everywhere has triggered an avalanche of data beyond human processing capabilities. Artificial intelligence technologies emerged as the only viable way to transform this data into information. Arun Subramaniyan has joined Intel to lead the Cloud and AI Strategy team. Arun joined Intel from AWS where he led the global solutions team for Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, High Performance Computing (HPC), Autonomous Vehicles and Autonomous Computing on AWS. His team was responsible for developing solutions spanning a $1.5 billion+ portfolio across all areas of HPC, quantum computing, and large-scale machine learning applications. Arun built and expanded global teams for Autonomous Computing and Quantum Computing go-to-market and solutions on AWS and grew businesses 2-3x.
Arun’s main research focus areas are Bayesian methods, global optimization, probabilistic deep learning for large-scale applications, and distributed computing. Large-scale parallel computing and modeling enjoy working at the intersection of large-scale systems. Prior to AWS, Arun founded and led the AI products team in GE’s Oil & Gas division and successfully grew its digital products business. He and his team have developed hybrid analytics powered by deep learning for all segments of the oil and gas industry. Arun led the development of the Digital Twin platform for GE at GE’s Global Research Center. The platform continues to enable several thousand engineers to efficiently build advanced models. Asset-specific cumulative damage modeling techniques define the industrial damage modeling standard that he and his team pioneered.
As a Six Sigma Specialist Black Belt, he developed advanced techniques and tools to efficiently model large-scale systems such as jet engine fleets, gas turbines in power plants, and accelerated design times by 3-4 times. Arun is a prolific researcher with a PhD.
