The interest in us has always surprised me. Classic Kids Summer Book Club and how many families are looking for a fun and enriching summer with their children. Thank you to everyone who participated and to everyone who gave information about this to your friends. Book Club!
Today I want to highlight a few fun ways to get creative with book club – the different ways DoSayGive readers have used book club over the years!
Make a book club with your friends!
Book clubs are fun to do with friends or neighbors and an easy way to get people together over the summer holidays. So ask a friend or friends to do this with you! Swap books or do some of the travel or activity ideas together. The perfect excuse to send an invitation to a new neighbor or friend.
Include grandparents!
The book club offers screen-free activity ideas and books to link to for grandparents who help out with their grandchildren during the summer. For grandparents from out of town, you can have a weekly story time with book club books via FaceTime or Zoom. (This will also give you a few moments of peace!)
Let the caregivers benefit from the activity ideas!
Our book club has crafts, cooking ideas, sensory activities and more, and the best part: they’re super easy to put together. Print the list and stick it on your bulletin board so babysitters and caregivers have access to these enriching ideas throughout the summer.
Fight boredom (and the screen)!
Boredom is actually a good thing in children. Good stories sow the seeds for imaginative play (and our book recommendations will do just that!), but our list of activities can also help give your kids ideas when they say they’re bored. this book club does the planning for you. Have them pick something and go with it. Older siblings may also help younger siblings.
Gift the book club!
Want to give it as a gift to the book club? There is an option to send the book club membership (and add a gift note!). payment. You can send a gift card to Amazon so they can get a book or two for a really thoughtful gift.
Start a new tradition!
Even if your child doesn’t like to read yet, most kids love a good story. Slowly build up your family’s reading aloud fun by reading together for 5-10 minutes a night. Your child will start wanting more and you may find yourself reading for longer periods of time! (Hint: Even older kids love to be read to themselves, no matter what they say!).
You can find more information about the book club here. Message. Hope you will join us! Join Now here.
