Twitter’s new CEO Parag Agrawal, said on Friday it will reorganize senior leadership at the company and two key executives will leave.
The shake-up was the first sign of a change in the management of Mr. Agrawal, who took the reins of the social media company after its co-founder and managing director on Monday. Jack Dorsey announces his resignation.
Twitter has been under pressure from investors to introduce new products faster and increase revenue, and Mr Agrawal said in an email to Twitter employees that the leadership changes are designed to increase Twitter’s pace.
Michael Montano, Twitter’s head of engineering and head of design and research, Dantley Daviswill leave by the end of the year. Mr. Davis had supported a culture change on Twitter that forced employees to perform better, which some employees criticized as bullying.

Mr. Davis has played a key role in behind-the-scenes efforts over the past two years to reshape Twitter’s culture. But clashed repeatedly with employees because of his rude style. His treatment of workers has also been the subject of several investigations by Twitter’s employee relations department and complaints that too many people have left Mr. Dorsey.
Mr. Davis and Mr. Montano will remain Twitter advisors in the first quarter of 2022, according to regulation.
Mr. Dorsey, Mr. Davis and Mr. Montano are not the only executives to announce their plans to leave Twitter anytime soon. The company’s chief executive, Jennifer Christie, has also announced she will be leaving by the end of the year, according to two people familiar with the announcement and not authorized to speak publicly.
A Twitter spokesperson said the product and engineering teams at Twitter will be combined under three executives.
Kayvon Beykpour will lead all consumer products, including design and research for these products. Revenue products, including designers and researchers, will be overseen by Bruce Falck. Nick Caldwell will lead Twitter’s technical infrastructure and oversee data science and backend engineering.
A spokesperson said in February that Twitter aims to double its revenue and add 123 million more active users by 2023, and that the company hopes combining Twitter teams under a handful of leaders will help it execute its plans faster.
