People tried to open accounts before Trump’s social platform

People acted quickly to open accounts with the former President Donald Trump‘s new social media platform ahead of its official launch next year.

Mr. embersteam announced the new platform TRUTH Social on Wednesday evening, and people tried to hijack the accounts featured on the new platform, which has a Twitter-like interface.

The platform’s app is available for pre-order on Apple’s App Store and its expected launch date is February 21.

Some tech writers tried to register accounts and request usernames for public figures via the website. For example, Drew Harwell of the Washington Post claimed to have a ‘mikepence’ account, while Mikael Thalen of the Daily Dot said he had ‘donaldtrump’.

“I was able to create an account on ‘Truth Social’, former President Donald Trump’s new social media website, using the username @donaldtrump,” Mr. Thalen said on Twitter, posting a screenshot of himself while using the site. “A URL has been discovered that allows users to still sign up even though the site is not officially open.”

A press release announcing the new platform included a URL for the website and said a “nationwide rollout” is expected in the first quarter of 2022.

Mr Harwell described the new platform on Twitter as ‘vulnerable’ as he was able to use the website. He then posted a screenshot showing that TRUTH Social blocked him from using the account he had registered and mocked online.

Mr. embers‘s team also encouraged people on Twitter to sign up on the new site shortly after its launch on Wednesday. Trump Media and Technology Group spokesperson Roman Daravi urged people to open accounts.

“America is ready for TRUTH,” Ms. Daravi tweeted. “Sign up for TRUTH Social today. #TMTG.”

Mr. embersTrump Media & Technology Group will become a publicly traded company after a combination with the following, his team said in an announcement. Digital World Acquisition Corp. and its aim is to create a competitor to the “liberal media consortium” and to “fight against the ‘Big Tech’ companies of Silicon Valley”.

A presentation posted on the website of the Trump Media & Technology Group shows that the social media platform is just one part of what Mr. embers‘He wants to form the team.

The presentation will show TRUTH Social competing with Twitter and Facebook, while a “TMTG+” will duel with streaming sites like Netflix and Disney+, and a “TMTG News” with CNN and iHeart Media.

“TMTG+ is an on-demand streaming service that will provide news, big tent entertainment, exciting documentaries, sports programming and more,” says the presentation on the Trump Media & Technology Group website. “The American public is looking for “unawakened” entertainment and TMTG+ will provide content for everyone to enjoy.”

The Trump team’s presentation said it saw a huge market opportunity in building an “irreversible” global community.
