Who should I buy a gift for?
It’s a good idea to give loyal customers and clients, employees, and office staff (especially younger staff or team members reporting directly to you) a way of thanking them for their loyalty, work, and hard work. If you’re giving a year-end bonus, the gift isn’t necessary, but it’s still a kind gesture. We’ve linked many of the many beautifully packaged gifts that were shipped internationally below!
What about colleague gifts?
Giving gifts to your co-workers isn’t always necessary, but it often depends on the company culture. So if you’re new, ask around! Many offices host a Secret Santa exchange, or better yet, adopt angels from the Angel Tree.
Of course, a small gift would be nice if you have a colleague you are particularly close to (see the ideas below!). Don’t feel pressured to spend a certain amount of money, though. Gesture matters!
Should I give a gift to my boss?
This is not necessary (or expected) and in some cases it may seem like you are trying to gain favor. Sending a Christmas card is a nice gesture and a group gift from all staff is appropriate, but again not necessary.
There are caveats, especially if you’ve known him for many years and have a close relationship. If you choose to give a gift, any of the following gifts will also be appropriate for the client and clients. Just be careful.
