A business that pays six figures a year and allows employees to work from home definitely sounds appealing.

Corporate review website Glass door Published the ranking of the top 50 jobs in America for Wednesday 2022. Tech workers took the top spot, with a median base salary of $144,997, more than 14,000 job postings, and “enterprise architects” with a four-fifths satisfaction rating.

Job score is determined by three factors: earning potential, job satisfaction, and number of vacancies. Nearly 90% of job listings for enterprise architects (the technicians who keep the world’s IT systems running) allow employees to work from home.

As job postings continue to rise – there were 10.9 million vacancies as of December, according to the Department of Labor – the balance of power in the employer-employee relationship is shifting away from the corner office.

“Last year, job postings increased and record-breaking worker turnover shifted the balance of power to worker, fine-tuning a better work-life balance with large numbers of workers and job seekers.” Glass door said in the report.

Americans continue to leave their current jobs at record rates, with turnover rates reaching 3% last month.

“People are jumping ship this way because wages can’t keep up with inflation, so the only way for most workers to take a step in their salary is either to find a new firm or to get one foot out the door,” said Raymond James. Chief Economist Scott Brown told MarketWatch.

IT positions normally dominate the top of the job rank list, but a few non-tech jobs made the list first. Psychologist (22) and psychiatrist (34) broke the top 50 as the coronavirus pandemic continued to harm the mental health of employees.

Personnel-related jobs also climbed the rankings, with HR manager, corporate recruiter and HR business partner ranked 13th, 17th and 39th, respectively.
